CORONAVIRUS/ COVID 19
Due to the current situation with Coronavirus we would like to lower the risk to all our patients, staff and clinicians. We therefore ask that patients do not come to the surgery unless you have a booked appointment that has been made by a clinician or receptionist.
This is providing none of the following apply to you:
· Been to an affected place in the last 14 days or had contact with somebody with coronavirus and /or have any of these symptoms
· Shortness of breath
If you are experiencing any of the above, please follow NHS guidelines and contact NHS 111
For prescription requests, please use our online services or telephone the surgery. For any other query, please telephone as we are NOT allowing patients to enter the surgery.

Patient Online Services
NHS App - if you wish you can access many online services via the NHS App which can be found here . The NHS App lets you book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions and access a range of other healthcare services. It doesn't give you access to as much as our own system (which allows access to your medical records) but it does allow the most commonly used things. You can get access to this without coming into the surgery, you will just need to photograph some ID for the app but it leads you through.
Whilst we are busy giving out our system details there are lots of them to get through. We also appreciate that it is difficult for people to come in and we also want to take pressure away from reception so this is a good alternative if you prefer apps to browsers and need access quickly.
Patients wishing to register for full access to our Patient Online Services for the first time will need to complete a registration form and have their identification verified at the Practice before their account can be activated.
Please be particularly aware of the ID requirements:
"Where there is any level of uncertainty surrounding “vouching” for a particular patient, Patient ID must be checked.
- The patient must attend in person with their ID
- 2 SEPARATE forms of ID are required, a photo ID and an ID linking them to their registered address.
Suitable forms of ID are one of the following:
Passport/national ID card (photo)
Driving licence (photo)
PLUS (one of the following)
Social prescribing, sometimes referred to as community referral, is a means of enabling GPs, nurses and other primary care professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services.
Recognising that people’s health is determined primarily by a range of social, economic and environmental factors, social prescribing seeks to address people’s needs in a holistic way. It also aims to support individuals to take greater control of their own health.
Social prescribing schemes can involve a variety of activities which are typically provided by voluntary and community sector organisations. Examples include volunteering, arts activities, group learning, gardening, befriending, cookery, healthy eating advice and a range of sports.
What they can help with:
- Care Advocacy
- Befriending and Counselling Information
- Support Groups & Networks
- Housing Support
- Employment & Volunterring
- Benefits Support and Debt Advice
- Education Training & Learning
- Healthy Promotion
If you need help with any of the above, all you need to do is contact The Wolseley Trust - Healthy Futures on 01752 203673. A link worker from the Trust currently attends the practice every Friday.
As a Practice we are very aware that visiting your GP can, at times, be stressful and concerning for patients. Delays in obtaining appointments and delays in surgery times, due to unforeseen emergency appointments, can also add to these concerns.
We always strive to meet patient expectation and deliver the highest standards of healthcare. For the vast majority of our patients we achieve this, despite the finite resources and steadily increasing demand for services that exists today within the NHS.
Our staff come to work to care for others, and it is important for all members of the public and our staff to be treated with respect.
In line with the rest of the NHS and to ensure this is fully observed we have instigated a Dignity at Work and Zero Tolerance policy, whereby aggressive or violent behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Any patient who verbally abuses a member of practice staff will be sent a letter from the Practice Manager confirming that this behaviour will not be tolerated. Any future violation of this policy may result in removal from the Practice patient list. The Police will be called in all cases of violence.
The Practice feels sure you will understand that proper behaviour is absolutely necessary for our staff and patients and that non observance will not be accepted.
